Miyashita "East Meets West" Sherry Cask Honjozo Genshu Sake

Miyashita Brewery has been making sake in Okayama for over a century. In 2015 they opened a Japanese whisky distillery, and Yotaru Jukusei marks the meeting point: the name itself means "Western barrel aged," and this bottle is matured in Oloroso sherry casks. Raisin, prune, and fig from the sherry on the nose, with the rice sweetness coming through underneath.
